Dr. Alan Lindsay Butler is a board-certified anesthesiologist and healthcare leader with more than two decades of experience in perioperative medicine, patient safety, and surgical care. As Perioperative Director, he helps oversee and optimize the patient surgical experience, ensuring care is safe, coordinated, efficient, and patient-centered from preoperative planning through recovery.

Known for his calm, collaborative approach and commitment to quality care, Dr. Butler has held leadership roles within large academic healthcare systems focused on perioperative protocols, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary surgical coordination.

Dr. Butler currently serves as an Attending Anesthesiologist at Northwell Health and Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He earned his medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his anesthesiology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, followed by fellowship training at Children’s National Medical Center.

He also holds both an MBA from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Healthcare Leadership from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, reflecting his strong focus on healthcare quality, leadership, and operational excellence.
