About Me

Tsarina Garcia, NP is a Nurse Practitioner who provides a wide range of health care services at Viva Eve. Tasi renders well-women care and manages and treats a broad scope of obstetric and gynecological conditions. She also evaluates laboratory test results, rendering therapeutic treatment if needed. Tsarina works with her patients on maintaining health and wellness over the long term, tailoring patient education to each individual.

Prior to joining Viva Eve, Tsarina spent several years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at North Shore University Hospital, where she was responsible for the direct care of pregnant and/or laboring patients, specifically those with high risk and/or complicated pregnancies. Her experience working in a variety of clinical settings has allowed her to gain a deep domain of knowledge and strong sense of empathy for all her patients.

What are some of the most pressing health issues today? Why?

One of the most pressing health issues today is the racial and ethnic disparities directly associated with pregnancy mortality. There are several elements that may contribute to these issues. The symptoms that patients describe may be overlooked due to race or ethnicity, which can lead to complications that could have been avoided. As a healthcare professional, I strive to the best of my ability to assess every symptom reported by a patient and take notice of underlying conditions that may contribute to new complications.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

I feel that being genuine and approachable has contributed to my success over the years. It allows my patients to feel more comfortable when they feel that I am being myself. They are more open and trusting which helps me render the best care possible and form rapports.

How do you practice empathy and compassion with your patients?

I follow the gold standard rule, which is to treat others how you would like to be treated. We are all human and should be treated equally. I was once a patient and all I wanted was for my providers and caregivers to understand what I was going through. I try to apply this to every patient I see. I want all my patients to feel comfortable physically, emotional and mentally.

Taylor M. From my first contact with the front desk to all the doctors, it’s been very professional, warm, and loving. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of talented people, and I will forever be thankful for everyone.
