WHY DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT BEING AN IR?

As an IR physician, I love that I can provide minimally invasive, low-risk treatments to patients as an alternative to surgery. Surgery will always have its role in treating patients, however, with advances in imaging and procedural techniques, I can provide treatments that have shorter recovery times, less complications, and equal or better results. It is an innovative specialty in medicine that is on the leading edge of health care delivery and I am proud to be a part of it.

WHAT BEHAVIOR OR PERSONALITY TRAIT DO YOU MOST ATTRIBUTE YOUR SUCCESS TO, AND WHY?

My empathy and patience are the most important attributes to my success as a physician. My empathy allows me to connect to my patient’s and understand through their perspective what challenges they face so that I can tailor their treatment plan most effectively.
My patience allows me to stay focused and not get frustrated with the inevitable things that interfere or obstruct my goals. When I do a procedure patience allows me stay innovative and constructive, creating different any new techniques to complete complicated procedures.

WHO INSPIRES YOU?

My wife inspires me. No explanation necessary. She simply does.
