Dr. Benjamin (Ben) Thornton is excited to join Viva Eve’s clinical team.
Dr. Thornton is an enthusiastic and thoughtful Ob/Gyn who is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date medical care to his patients. He always had an interest in women’s health and becoming an obstetrician and gynecologist allowed him the opportunity to make an impact in women’s lives. He really enjoys getting to know his patients and delivering expert care with kindness and compassion.
Dr. Thornton received his medical degree at Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University and completed his residency training at University of South Florida – Morsani College of Medicine.
He has a special interest in research on health issues in developing countries and improving health outcomes for patients in underserved Hispanic communities. Dr. Thornton is fluent in Spanish.
While in medical school he participated in numerous research projects, both in the United States as well as in Kenya, where he focused on evaluating public understanding concerning etiology of STIs and their transmission with particular emphasis on HIV. He also co-authored several publications at Journal of Child Neurology and Pediatric Emergency Care.
Dr. Thornton is very excited to join Viva Eve’s team of healthcare providers where he hopes to make a positive, long-term impact on his patients’ lives through preventive care and education.
