Learning that you need surgery for a women’s health issue can be overwhelming, that is why finding a both experienced and caring gynecologic surgeon is so important. It is also important to choose a surgeon who is an expert in minimally invasive surgical procedures to ensure that your recovery is fast and that you can get back to your normal life as quickly as possible.

Whether you’re just exploring gynecologic surgery options, or you want a second (or a third!) opinion, you can trust Viva Eve’s surgeons to provide the information and care that you need and deserve.

Our doctors will discuss pros and cons of every procedure and guide you through the operative experience, from the initial consultation to recovery, so that you can decide together which procedure or treatment works best for your specific situation.

Approximately 85 percent of surgeries performed at Viva Eve are minimally invasive, including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, and vaginal procedures. Minimally invasive surgery means less blood loss, less pain medication, less scarring, and faster recovery. Depending on the procedure, many patients are able to resume normal activities within a week, as opposed to the four–to–six weeks’ recovery time of traditional surgical methods.

Many of these procedures are performed on an outpatient basis at our state-of-the-art surgical suites in our offices.

Laparoscopy has many uses, including the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroid tumors, infertility, and ovarian cysts. Laparoscopy is a way of performing surgery using small incisions (cuts). It is different from “open” surgery where the incision on the skin can be several inches long. Laparoscopic surgery sometimes is called “minimally invasive surgery.”

Here are just some of the procedures that Viva Eve surgeons can perform laparoscopically:

  • Salpingectomy (complete removal of the fallopian tubes)
  • Myomectomy (fibroid removal)
  • Procedures to treat infertility, chronic pelvic pain, and endometriosis
  • Procedures to treat pelvic floor disorders
  • Ovarian cyst removal
  • Hysterectomy

and many more

Hysteroscopy is used to diagnose or treat problems of the uterus. A hysteroscope is a thin, lighted telescope-like device that is inserted through the vagina into the uterus. The hysteroscope transmits the image of the uterus onto a screen. Other instruments are used along with the hysteroscope for treatment.

Here are just some of the procedure Viva Eve doctors perform using hysteroscopy:

  • Removal of polyps.
  • Removal of fibroid tumors.
  • IUD Removal.
  • Removal of adhesions and scar tissue
  • Permanent sterilization procedure

and many more

Whether routine, complex, elective, or emergent surgery, our team of highly trained gynecologic surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses work together to ensure the highest quality of care for each patient before, during, and after every surgical procedure.
